I've been busy, and now have to go see the boss. What's up?

Okay, so I'm back. First off Congrats to the bride and groom, Justin and Nix. I got a promotion a month ago and have been really busy. So busy in fact that I have to go back to work now, it's 6:00....I got in at 8:00....I'll probably be here for another hour or so....and it usually like this....

Am I being a dick?

I know that there are people who have died and lost everything from Katrina, and I do feel sorry for them. But I see a golden opportunity here, mainly converting New Orleans to a new Venice!

How cool would it be to have people throw beads down from hotels into gondolas? To have a system of canals instead of streets would surly help rebuild lost tourism and with the unique culture there it could potentially make for a wonderful vacation spot.

So I start my new job next month as an internal auditor. I'm really looking forward to this move as it's more in-line with my degree in Asshole with a minor in Laziness. One of the cool things is that I will get to travel and visit our plants (about 300 in the US). Of course this could affect my time with pink_kittycat but as she's busy with school and work I hope that our time missed will be minimal. Life has been looking up mostly except for the living situation but I think that aoide and I are having as much fun as possible with this, makeing cracks at our neighbor and landlady as much as possible. And of course we also really enjoy thinking of devious ways to get back that them which I find extrememly entertaining. Other than that....poop (thanks schlemaggle I hope this works)

I mean everyone and his or her dog knows that spam is worthless and a nuisance, does anyone actually use it? And if no one ever clicked on spam wouldn’t the companies who spam us quit since it isn’t making them money? I know, I know, if they continue to exist they must be making money, but seriously when’s the last time anyone heard that they bought/learned/used anything useful from a spammer?

Well Lauren has left, going back to her parents for a few days before going back up to Athens for pre-rush. I already miss her but alas, that is the story of our relationship. We've never really had the opportunity that other couples have. Others can argue and go their separate ways for a bit then get the chance to see each other when they have cooled down. Lauren and I don't get that luxury, if we argue (which has been less and less lately) we can't just go our separate ways for a bit since we get so little precious time together, and when we are together we normally don't have other friends we can go see in the respective places (Lauren can't go see anyone when she's in Atlanta as her friends are in Athens and vice versa).

But we did have a great weekend together, went to a party Saturday night which was a blast and saw "Must Love Dogs" on Sunday which we both enjoyed. Like dirtyolman I too cry at movies but not at this one as it wasn't a tearjerker as much as a heart-warming tale of love after marriage.

On the work front I'm trying to get a job in internal audit which is probably the most hated position in every company but hey, it pays well and that's where my degree would lead me (I duel majored in Asshole and Accounting, interesting school, the School of Asshole).

Saw calamine_tea last Thursday, such a great time I really can relax after she works her magic, if anyone is ever in the mood for a great massage and in the Atlanta area....

And now Empire at War isn't coming out until 02/2006! Dammit!

Well life has been interesting lately for me and aoide. Last night our CNL came over and told us that "four cars is just too much." Appartently she thinks that either a) we give a shit or b) we're going to move one of the cars. aoide just said, "Pat, I'm not having this conversation with you" and walked inside. I almost laughed my ass off. We're both hoping that CNL will just leave the place when her lease runs up, then we can fill the place with some of our friends. That would be ideal. And today I get to see pink_kittycat, since I haven't seen her in two weeks I'm really excited. Also finished Half-Blood Prince, great book but now I've got to wait years for the next. Oh well, nothing much in this post but wanted to let all you know that I haven't forgot about you.

I would have thought that this kind of thing could only happen in some far eastern nation, but no, it happened in our backyard, in S.C. Now I know some of us are devout animal lovers, so I'm warning you now, this is really really disgusting.

If any of you out there have had the pleasure of experiencing a trip on the MARTA here in Atlanta you know what I’m talking about. For those who don’t here’s the short and curlies of it. MARTA is supposed to be a quick way of getting around Atlanta, unless of course you have to take one of their buses somewhere. Since you need a degree in advanced mathematics to understand the bus schedule and most of their bus drivers don’t have said degrees, their bus schedule is completely off track. This morning as I was walking up to the bus stop I was almost ran over by the bus that I was supposed to catch. Oh well, had to drive in. And don't even get started on Friday's. You would think that maybe, just maybe, the Powers that Be might consider adding a train or two more on Friday's, and not going Southbound. I could see four or five Southbound trains before a Northbound train comes on every Friday. Then the people who work for them are pretty rude with no sense of humor, and let's not forget the solicitors asking for money or the children selling overpriced candy....

pink_kittycat might not be home when I get there as she might have gone back to Athens today:(

It’s not only month-end but quarter-end so people who haven’t completed their projects they had to do this past quarter have passed it on to me. Well at least I’ve got Floatilla this weekend, (lj user= scienceiscool> and goaticusmaximus have been kind enough to let me tag along with them since aoide will be getting there at 7:30am OUCH.

Oh by the way, I hate MARTA.
